FAMILY, LOVE, LAKE, FUN
You will want to rise-n-shine early in the morning to enjoy your coffee on the back porch or deck while enjoying the 210 degree view of the lake. Grab your paper or fishing pole and head down to our private dock to relax in the rocking chairs to witness the sunrise as the lake comes to life. Lake Bob Sandlin is approximate 10,000 acres with a 120 mile shoreline known for its trophy fishing and an abundance of ducks, coots, heron and other birds. During the winter months, we have witnessed two bald eagles in our back yard. Let’s not forget the raccoons, squirrels and deer! If fishing is not your forte, then swing lazily in our lakeside hammocks reading your favorite book while enjoying spectacular views of the lake. Plenty of antique shops, wineries and places to eat in nearby Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg…just minutes away.
Ready for romance? For the adults, we have a hot tub on the rear deck…perfect for night time use while stargazing. During the winter months, you can nestle by the fireplace or make s’mores on lakeside fire pit. .
Enjoy dazzling sunsets, great fishing, and the serenity of the outdoors. Bring your boat to explore the lake. Sunbathe, swim or float the day away.
FUN IN THE SUN
It's always nicer at the lake but then add the coziness of a log cabin and a couple of hammocks...you just cannot top that.
So you like to fish? We get that but our place, the lake and the area offers so much more. From walking the quaint shops, enjoying a special dinner at the nearby wineries or catfish house...or just grabbing a book to read and listen to the birds...we have it all. What's missing? Big city noise and the need to rush anywhere.
CHILLIN AND GRILLIN
Grill on the dock or deck. Chill on the rocker or hammock. Fire up the fire pit for some friendly chat or dip in the hot tub for some romantic whispers.
If its raining, take in the rain on the back porch as it taps on the metal roof top. Or break out a board game, puzzle or cards.. Yes we have wi-fi and video games but most guests like stepping back in time and keeping things simple.
LOCAL SPOTS
Wow...where do we start. If you feel the need to venture off, there is so much to offer within 20 minutes of our place. Mount Vernon and Pittsburg are both Main Street USA towns with loads of shops, eateries and sightseeing. Mount Pleasant is the largest of the three and offers just about everything including a movie theater. Watch the blog for upcoming events like festivals and fishing tournaments.
BEAUTIFUL EAST TEXAS
The Piney Woods Region of Texas is incredible. From small towns, nice folks, shops, nature and lakes....it is hard to believe you are only 2 hours from Dallas.
Lake Bob Sandlin State Park is right across the lake from our place. Great place for nature walks and a picnic. A short 20 minute drive is Dangerfield State Park that offers a great trail around its own lake.
