OUR SPECIAL PLACE

Our two story log home has a vaulted ceiling with a stone fireplace…and stands tall on its authentic style stone foundation with impressive views of the lake. Featuring 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, our 1500SF cabin is complimented by 1000SF of decks and porches as well as a 1200SF boathouse. Our woodsy cabin features custom stained glass, vintage art and handcrafted log furniture. The sun gleams through the stained glass windows adding colorful light and coziness to our home. The dining area is open to the fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and blender with the washer and dryer located in the utility room. The large breakfast counter/food prep area is highlighted by mosaic depiction of the Texas Flag while discretely tucking away a complete entertainment center that includes a large 4K TV with Netflix, Dish Satellite, DVD and a basic Video Game System … with a limited library of music and movies. Each bedroom features a small TV. We also have several board games and puzzles…just in case it rains. Yes, we offer Wi-Fi just in case you need to contact the outside world...however the internet bandwidth is not suitable for serious game streaming. By the way, the perfect place for rain is on the back porch as the rain hits the tin roof.

WHAT TO DO

Our special place is nestled among tall pine, maple and hickory trees in a quaint, private setting…the perfect retreat to relax and unwind away from the frantic pace of city life, while getting reacquainted with nature. From fishing, water skiing, sunbathing, swimming, hiking, nature walks, biking and more – it’s right outside the window of our cozy home. Perfect for your family, friends or that special someone to create memories in an extraordinary environment. Great for quilt and scrap booking retreats… and don’t forget our fishing tournaments.

You will want to rise-n-shine early in the morning to enjoy your coffee on the back porch or deck while enjoying the 210 degree view of the lake. Grab your paper or fishing pole and head down to our private dock to relax in the rocking chairs to witness the sunrise as the lake comes to life. Lake Bob Sandlin is approximate 10,000 acres with a 120 mile shoreline known for its trophy fishing and an abundance of ducks, coots, heron and other birds. During the winter months, we have witnessed two bald eagles in our back yard. Let’s not forget the raccoons, squirrels and deer! If fishing is not your forte, then swing lazily in our lakeside hammocks reading your favorite book while enjoying spectacular views of the lake. Plenty of antique shops, wineries and places to eat in nearby Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg…just minutes away.

Ready for romance? For the adults, we have a hot tub on the rear deck…perfect for night time use while stargazing. During the winter months, you can nestle by the fireplace or make s’mores on lakeside fire pit. .

Enjoy dazzling sunsets, great fishing, and the serenity of the outdoors. Bring your boat to explore the lake. Sunbathe, swim or float the day away.
